The temperatures are slowly falling, the leaves are turning and beginning to gently fall to the ground. Soon I'll be able to pull out my favorite sweatshirt, I'll be able to curl up on the couch with a cup of cappuccino, afghan and watch a movie.

I love winter. I love how the world looks like a giant snow globe when the snow starts to fall. I hate the heating bills, but I love the cold. I also love what winter brings...

Christmas! I do good during March, April, May, but then about June it starts. It's weird in a way. I love watching my garden grow and I love getting the veggies out of it, but when June, July, August, and September and now even October rolls around I don't want to do anything out there. LOL I love my grill and I grill but you won't find me sitting out on the deck with the grill, you'll see me darting in and out. Instead of going outside and walking around in my garden cheering my plants on and giving them words of inspiration, I stand and look out the window and pray they do good.
I love to yard sale. One person's trash is my treasure and I'm up at 6am and raring to go...until July. I look through the yard sales in the paper and think naww...nothing sounds good. It's in the back of my head the whole time though, what about all the sales not in the paper that you find by driving to the others. What goodies am I missing? What item would I just have to have if I was there? Why can't yard sales be in winter when it's nice and cool outside?
The sad thing is, during November and December I'm good, but then January rolls around and the real cold hits and the electric bills skyrocket, I start wishing for spring and having the windows open. Just spring though. I wish we could go from winter to spring and back again. :)

Joyfulclicks?

Anybody know what happened to Joy and Joyfulclicks? We already had flooding in the county, we didn't flood here on Main Street, but we sure got the rain. Didn't get my garden out until last weekend. It needs to be tilled, but it rained again yesterday and today, so it's too muddy. I told James this afternoon it'll probably be like it was a few years ago. It rained so much we couldn't get out in the garden to deal with the weeds so we had hike through the weeds to get to the plants.

Even the poor yard needs mowing. I mowed the neighbors whole yard with a push mower last week on Monday and then mowed my yard on Wednesday. I know most of you are sitting there going so what? It's a little accomplishment for me that one more year I can still do it. Hoping I can get out and mow tomorrow, supposed only be 82. Shouldn't be too hot. James has a 16 year old nephew that's been battling cancer for going on three years now. They've counted him out a couple of times but he keeps fighting back. Well this time it's really getting him down. He's down to about 60-70 pounds and he's lost his hair again. It's easy to see that he's not well. The only time he's been out of the house is for Doctor's appointments and treatments.

Yesterday is brother picked him up and they went to Walmart. He wanted to find a new video game. Keep in mind this is the same Walmart that helped fulful his Make a Wish a couple of years ago. His brother helps him onto one of those motorized carts because John just doesn't have the strength to walk Walmart. A Walmart employee stopped John and told him to get off the cart he was too young to use it. Can you believe that???? It's obvious from looking John that he does need the cart, but what right does this employee have to decide who needs a cart and who doesn't just based on age or appearance??? John's brother had a manager come up there and John was allowed to use the cart, but John didn't need that. That employee brought a lot of unwanted attention to John and almost ruined his first real outing in months. Personally, I think that manager should have given John the video game he wanted as an apology.

Trust me, I will be calling 1-800-walmart tomorrow and somebody is going to get an earful about the way my nephew was treated.

ACE

Wanted to let everyone know my cousin is selling ACE from the Saba company. I have to say though that my brother really suprised me by being there to help fill it.

I did have to get a job to supplement my supplement security income (SSI). Ironic, isn't it? I went to work at SVDP where I had been volunteering for the last couple of years and it was good. Being paid made it a little more difficult because I couldn't sit down whenever I needed to, so it made my back and legs worse. Doesn't matter, after 2 months, just long enough for the work to start effecting my SSI check they fired me. Evidently the economy was so bad they couldn't afford to keep me on. I thought it was pretty crappy of them, but oh well, there loss. I don't even volunteer there now.

On a brighter note, I found James again. We used to run around in high school on the weekends and he was like my best friend. I had a huge crush on him, but never told him. Anyways, I ran into his sister who works at the hospital where mom was and she told me where he was. We've been together 7 and a half months now and it's great.

Hopefully we'll get all the kinks worked out of the Owl Post now. The programmer is tweaking how the cookies are handled because for some reason the emails work okay using IE but not firefox. I'll be trying to get the emails going daily again and start running your ads too. Right now, I've been deleting them because I don't want to run your ad and you not get the response you deserve because the program is messing up.

Okay, wanted to let everyone know what's going on. I'll send out an email in the next few days updating you a bit more on program issues. :)

Thank you for sticking with me through everything.

Recipes

Come on gang.
