Walmart

If you read both of my blogs, you'll be seeing this post twice, that's how angry I am.

A little background. James has a 16 year old nephew that's been battling cancer for going on three years now. They've counted him out a couple of times but he keeps fighting back. Well this time it's really getting him down. He's down to about 60-70 pounds and he's lost his hair again. It's easy to see that he's not well. The only time he's been out of the house is for Doctor's appointments and treatments.

Yesterday is brother picked him up and they went to Walmart. He wanted to find a new video game. Keep in mind this is the same Walmart that helped fulful his Make a Wish a couple of years ago. His brother helps him onto one of those motorized carts because John just doesn't have the strength to walk Walmart. A Walmart employee stopped John and told him to get off the cart he was too young to use it. Can you believe that???? It's obvious from looking John that he does need the cart, but what right does this employee have to decide who needs a cart and who doesn't just based on age or appearance??? John's brother had a manager come up there and John was allowed to use the cart, but John didn't need that. That employee brought a lot of unwanted attention to John and almost ruined his first real outing in months. Personally, I think that manager should have given John the video game he wanted as an apology.

Trust me, I will be calling 1-800-walmart tomorrow and somebody is going to get an earful about the way my nephew was treated.

hi my heart goes out to your nephew and his brother and that employer should have gotten a severe repremand as it is my belief that someone should not be judged by their age or size without knowing all the facts

Good for you!

Keep going up the supervisor chain until you get someone that "can't be fired." And they should be able to do something about it.

I can't blame you for being upset. I work at a Walmart and it's unreal how many healthy college kids and other physically fit people use these carts, then when someone elderly and/or disabled comes in there are none to be had. No one at all should have said anything to him.
